I heard part of the TV broadcast where a city official provided a preview of what Westfield plans to suggest for revitalizing the mall.
Plans are to include a theater complex and more restaurants. I really wonder if proper research has been done to suggest these are going to be services that can help the mall, without just taking business away from the neighborhood. Is there a need for more theaters with a complex just across the street.
The mall seems to be catering to a lower middle class audience. The stores do not have appeal for a higher end audience. One has to go all the way south to Fashion Valley or north into Orange County to find higher end stores. But maybe it's hard to attract them to this area.
The question is, what kind of new retail services would improve the mall?
